Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

At Sweet Spigot, we understand that life happens and unexpected circumstances can arise. Because we host a limited number of weddings and reserve your date exclusively for you, cancellations and date changes can significantly impact our ability to accommodate other couples.

This policy is intended to provide transparency while allowing flexibility whenever reasonably possible.

Reservation Retainer

Your Reservation Retainer secures your event date and is non-refundable.

Once a date is reserved, we immediately remove it from availability and begin planning and preparation for your event.

Your reservation is not considered confirmed until both the signed Venue Rental Agreement and Reservation Retainer have been received.

Client-Initiated Cancellations

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. The following policies apply:

More Than 12 Months Prior to Event Date

Payments made beyond the Reservation Retainer may be eligible for a partial refund at the discretion of Sweet Spigot.

Between 6 and 12 Months Prior to Event Date

Previously paid amounts, excluding the Security Deposit, are generally non-refundable.

However, if the event date is successfully rebooked, Sweet Spigot may issue a partial refund at its sole discretion.

Less Than 6 Months Prior to Event Date

All payments made are non-refundable due to the limited opportunity to rebook the reserved date and the planning resources already committed to your event.

Date Changes & Rescheduling

We understand that circumstances may require a change of plans.

Requests to reschedule your event may be considered based on venue availability and must be approved in writing.

If a new date is available:

• Existing payments may be transferred to the new date.
• Pricing may be adjusted to reflect current rates, package offerings, or seasonal availability.
• Rescheduling is limited to one date transfer per event.

Sweet Spigot cannot guarantee the availability of alternate dates.

Weather Policy

Weather conditions, seasonal changes, insects, temperature fluctuations, smoke, rain, wind, snow, or other naturally occurring outdoor conditions are not grounds for cancellation, refunds, or breach of contract.

We encourage all couples to prepare for changing weather conditions and discuss backup plans in advance.

Force Majeure

In the event circumstances beyond anyone’s reasonable control prevent the event from taking place, Sweet Spigot will make reasonable efforts to work with the couple to identify an alternative date.

Examples may include:

• Natural disasters
• Government restrictions
• Public health emergencies
• Severe weather resulting in unsafe conditions
• Utility failures
• Fire or other catastrophic events affecting the property

Refunds are not guaranteed under these circumstances; however, rescheduling options will be prioritized whenever possible.

Cancellation by
Sweet Spigot

Sweet Spigot reserves the right to cancel an event if:

• Required payments are not received
• Required insurance documentation is not provided
• Contractual obligations are not fulfilled
• Safety concerns exist
• Venue rules are repeatedly violated
• Circumstances beyond reasonable control prevent safe operation of the property

In such cases, Sweet Spigot will make reasonable efforts to communicate promptly and discuss available options.

Our Commitment

Our goal is never to create unnecessary hardship. We understand that wedding planning can be unpredictable, and we will always strive to approach unexpected situations with fairness, compassion, and open communication.

Because every situation is unique, we encourage couples to contact us as early as possible if changes arise so we can work together toward the best possible solution.
